Thermolan® is the predictive metallurgical quality system for spheroidal, lamellar and compact graphite (CGI) cast iron that makes it possible to know, in real time, the main characteristics of the parts being manufactured. 

With a single sample Thermolan® provides key information about the predicted quality of the castings in less than 60 seconds.

Developed by AZTERLAN, the Thermolan® thermal analysis system is compatible with different treatment methods and is easily installable in the casting process, allowing corrective measures to be implemented for a defect-free manufacturing.

System characteristics

Hardware

The Thermolan® system is a versatile system that can be used in different points of the casting process. 

Its flexibility allows different combinations, working as an equipment fixed in a certain space in the plant or getting a portable autonomous device.

It is built of an analysis unit and various sample holders that can be conected to it. 

The sample holders are also enabled for round and square quick cups, being able to manage up to 3 cups by every sample holder.

Software

The Thermolan® software presents data in an intuitive and flexible way, making it possible to adapt the viewr to the needs of each user or manufacturing process.

The analysis unit of Thermolan® can manage up to 6 independent channels to analyze samples simultaneously.

Software compatible with Windows 7 or later and accessible in different languages.

Internal database storage that also offers the possibility to export the data to Excel files or other databases.

Main novelties of Thermolan® v3.3

The improvements introduced in Thermolan® v3.3 are aimed at offering a friedlier and more agile tool for carrying out daily assessmets at the production line, as well as a more robust and reliable means for working on the analysis of historical data and/or perform data uploads manually. Find the main innovations introduced in the different work environments:

Thermolan® Capture

We have improved the usability of widgets and other customizable elements so that you can manage them more intuitively.
  • Widgets now automatically select the first available free space, making setup easier and optimizing screen real estate.
  • Widgets will also assign to the corresponding channels by default, saving you time and effort.
  • Widget occupancy space management is done directly from the stage setup screen, giving you more control and flexibility.
We have worked on how some key data are displayed so it is easier for you to get the relevant information.
  • A more accurate solidus temperature.
  • Clearer, more visual charts and data.
  • Improved temperature display for a clearer reading.
We have created a new automatic capture settings menu.
This menu will allow you to auto-generate the folder and file structure to monitor, making your workflow more simple.
We have introduced improvements to the Nodularity Predictions widget.
  • Results of the calculation of the percentage of nodularity are showcased in a more precise way.
  • Improvements in the calculation of the number of nodules have been made so the represent metallographic values more faithfully.
We have improved the %C and %Si Prediction widget.
  • More direct and descriptive error messages.
  • New buttons will allow you to select the minimum Liquidus and Eutectic temperatures of the composition curve and perform subsequent calculations with them.
  • Visualization of the nodularity and composition widgets, even in small spaces. These minor changes enhance the visual experience and make data easier to interpret, ensuring more efficient and accurate analysis.

Thermolan® Analyzer

Extracting multiple files simultaneously.
  • Now all scenario-type Excel files can simultaneously be extracted in one step.
  • With a single click, data can be procesed in batch, saving time and effort.
File upload improvements.
Drag and drop the scenario Excel files directly into the search tab.
Goodbye, Cooling Curve Display widget.
Now all the tasks that this widget offered can be performed in other fields of easier and more intuitive use and access, simplifying your workflow.

General improvements

+ Easy
Virtual licenses.

Licenses for virtual machines have been introduced. This way you will have greater flexibility and adaptability in your virtualized work environments.

New system to collect the time of testings.

From now on, although the time will be taken from the current date in UTC format, it will be displayed correctly for the user.

New languages.

Now Themolan® can also be set up for Russian language.
