On the occasion of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, AZTERLAN reaffirms its commitment to equal opportunities and the promotion of scientific vocations among younger generations. Highlighting the women who are already pursuing careers in the scientific and technological fields is essential so that girls and young women can see themselves reflected and choose their studies without barriers or stereotypes.
The lack of female role models in science remains one of the factors contributing to the low representation of women in certain STEM areas. Therefore, providing relatable and real examples is crucial to building a more diverse, inclusive, and talent-rich future.
In this context, AZTERLAN continues to collaborate with the Maristas Ibérica and Maristak Euskadi Fundazioa schools to convey a clear message: women have played, continue to play, and will play a fundamental role in science and technology.
