The AZTERLAN Metallurgy Research Centre, a benchmark in advanced technological services and metallurgical innovation, has joined Space Aero Spain, the network that brings together international aeronautical companies and organizations focused on the development and improvement of the aerospace industry. This membership reinforces AZTERLAN’s commitment to a strategic sector for both Basque and European industry.
In the words of Urko Uribe, Head of the Physical Testing and Mechanical Properties Area at AZTERLAN:

AZTERLAN offers a wide range of mechanical, metallographic, chemical, non-destructive and corrosion testing services, accredited under accreditation No. 59/LE069 granted by the Spanish National Accreditation Body (ENAC) in accordance with the UNE-EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard. In addition, it holds the NADCAP (National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program) aerospace accreditation, which certifies its technical competence as a testing laboratory for the characterization of metallic materials (Materials Testing Laboratory, MTL).
The Centre also holds approvals from leading aerospace companies such as Boeing, Airbus and Lockheed Martin (Sikorsky), and maintains a solid track record of collaboration with companies such as Heroux Devtek (CESA), Aernnova and ITP Aero. In the field of innovation, AZTERLAN has participated in several European Union Clean Sky and Clean Sky 2 projects, focused on the development of materials, components and manufacturing processes that enhance the competitiveness of the European aeronautical sector.
With its incorporation into Space Aero, AZTERLAN strengthens its position as a key player committed to the development and competitiveness of the aerospace industry, consolidating its role as a reference centre for technological services, testing and innovation.
