Optimization of ductile iron casting production by using advanced thermal analysis and simulation techniques

The use of advanced techniques to control cast iron manufacturing processes lead to important reductions of costs and improvements of castings quality. The effective application of these technical aspects to plants give relevant advantages to foundry companies which are considered as important advantages in terms of competitiveness. The present work shows an innovative combination of thermal analysis and simulation techniques which allows minimising the production costs keeping castings without internal porosity defects.
