Workshop: “Structural characterization of metallic materials”

IK4-AZTERLAN Metallurgy Research Center will host this event at its main facilities from Durango. The two working sessions are directed to professionals from the metal-mechanical industry and will be held on the 28th and 29th of June.

Optical, digital and electron microscopy, combined with spectroscopy or diffraction analysis techniques, make possible to approach the characterization of metallic materials exhaustively.

From defect detection to microstructure control at different levels, microscopy techniques are very important tools for the design, the quality control and the prevention or failure analysis of components and systems.

In order to support professionals from the industry to improve their level of knowledge and expertise on the capabilities of these techniques and in the selection of the most appropriate analytical tools for each particular case, a complete overview from Macro to Micro and from Micro to Nano will be made along this working frame.

The workshop will combine theoretical and practical sessions with the use of advanced equipments and will be led by specialists from the company LEICA Microsystems and from IK4-AZTERLAN Metallurgy Research Center.
