Technical Session “Preconditioning and metallurgical developments in nodular iron”

This working frame has been celebrated in IK4-AZTERLAN Metallurgical Technical Centre, counting with the participation of 93 professionals from 40 different companies of the foundry sector and an outstanding program of technical contents.

Actual demands from cast components go beyond fulfilling specifications. The final quality of the castings is conditioned by many different factors, although the metallurgical conditions of the iron are among one the most important ones.

The working program of this technical session has allowed to share among participants advanced preconditioning concepts in the preparation of the base iron and on the FeSiMg treatment, along with new developments in grey iron (interdendritic superfine lamellar graphite), visualizing as well some predictive control systems applied to the casting processes.

This technical event has count with the collaboration of technicians and researchers from the company ELKEM and from IK4-AZTERLAN Metallurgical Technical Centre, who have shared some of the latest metallurgical developments through presentations of the highest interest.

93 technicians and specialists in foundry technology from 40 different companies have taken part in this technical working session
