AZTERLAN homologated by BOEING as an advanced materials testing laboratory for the aerospace industry

AZTERLAN Technological Services division has recently been homologated by BOEING aircraft manufacturer to perform advanced metallurgical characterization tests. Homologation extends to the performance of physical and chemical key analysis for the aerospace industry.

Committed to offering a strategic support to the air and space companies by meeting the highest quality standards and requirements AZTERLAN Metallurgy Research Centre keeps improving its capabilities and its offer for the industry.

Among the tests homologated by the BOEING aicraft company, a worldwide referent of its sector, some special physical and chemical tests such as Titanium hydrogen analysis according ASTM E1447 or fatigue testing according ASTM E466 can be highlighted, along with many other tests according ASTM E8, ASTM E21, ASTM E23, ASTM E190, ASTM E290, ASTM B557 standandards. The whole range of homologated tests can be checked here. The quality system of the Centre has been as well homologated.

This homologation reinforces the technological capabilities of AZTERLAN to respond to the needs of the aerospace industry, summing up to those homologations from AIRBUS and LOCKHEED MARTIN (SIKORSKY), as well as to a long history of collaboration with a large number with leading companies such as HEROUX DEVTEK (CESA), AERNNOVA or ITP Aero. AZTERLAN is also accredited by NADCAP (National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program) recognized by the internationally well known Performance Review Institute (PRI).

In the same way, AZTERLAN R&D division collaborates with the aerospace industry in the development of new materials and more efficient processes through important research efforts and projects. RIB-ON, NEMARCO, H2FREE or REINTEGRA projects, framed within the Clean Sky 2 program (oriented to the improvement of the environmental impact of European aeronautical sector) are a good example of the research efforts and capabilities from the Technology Centre.

The knowledge and technical skills of AZTERLAN, relies on avant-garde equipment and facilities that enable the Metallurgy Research Centre to offer a wide range of services and advanced materials characterization, defect and service failure analysis, Non Destructive Testing and innovation services oriented to boost the competitiveness of companies.

Accreditations and certifications of AZTERLAN

AZTERLAN Technological Services is also accredited by ENAC - Entidad Nacional de Acreditación (Spanish National Accreditation Organism) in compliance with the criteria defined in the UNE-EN ISO/IEC 17025 (CGA-ENAC-LEC) Standard for performing mechanical, metallographic, chemical, non-destructive and corrosion tests on metallic materials framed within the nº 59/LE069 scope.

AZTERLAN R&D counts as well with the UNE 166002 R&D Management System certification which proves its capacities to perform Research and Development activities for the improvement of the competitiveness level of the industry.
