“Corrosion Awareness Day”: IK4-AZTERLAN technical capabilities in corrosion of metallic materials

The area of Corrosion and Protection of Metallic Materials from IK4-AZTERLAN is focused at helping the metal-mechanical industry to reduce the negative impact of corrosion, improving the critical decision making during the different stages of the manufacturing chain of metallic components: from the design and the selection of the most appropriate materials, to the production process, the identification of the optimum treatments and coatings for each application, along with the defect and failure analysis during the life service.

Ramón Suárez: “Our target with the organization of the 2nd Carl Loper Symposium is to bring innovations close to the future of the Foundry Industry”

The 2nd Carl Loper Symposium on Foundry Technologies will be held in Bilbao on the 30th of September and 1st of October 2019. This meeting is organized by IK4-AZTERLAN Metallurgy Research Centre with the collaboration of the American Foundry Society, the Word Foundry Organization and the Tabira Foundry Institute. In the words of Ramón Suárez, head of R&D and Metallurgy Processes at IK4-AZTERLAN, the target of the symposium is to “gather technological developments that are aligned with the current and future needs of the foundry industry”.
